Chronology

• Sri Mawar School was officially registered
• Started its operation in Jalan Bintang along with Tadika Sri Mawar Miri

• Proper classes were conducted on the first floor of Rumah Dayak Building

• The Headmistress, Miss Cecelia Holmes left the school

• In April, the school, moved its operation to a new building/Premise in Piasau Jaya

• The creation and opening ceremony of “Taman Sains” and upgrading of Pusat Sumber Sekolah

• The establishment of Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) and moving on to the new office

• “Bengkel Kemahiran Hidup” and “Makmal Kelab Sains” were established

• The construction of the new block for “Kemahiran Hidup”, the landscaping of the fish pond, Taman Alam (Nature Garden), the Aviary and also new parking lot.
• Trinity Oral English Exam – registered center

• Year 6 students of SRSM sat for the UPSR exam, for the first time
• SRSM UPSR 1994 – 100% passes
• The installation of water fountain
• New computers (Model 486-DX) for the Computer Class
• The school (SRSM) became the organizer of the MSSR Hockey Tournament, Miri Division

• Mdm. Catherine Tan was elected as Director of School (SSM)
• SRSM UPSR 1995 – 96.6% passes
• New colour for the school uniform – green and white

• The establishment of Kelas Fardhu Ain (KAFA)
• For the first time, SRSM took part in the Lantern Procession in conjunction With the TYT Sarawak birthday
• Also participated in the Raft (Rakit) competition
• UPSR result (1996) was announced With 98% passes

• UPSR result (1997) was announced with 96.6% passes
• Intensive English Reading Programme was introduced
• Special class for B. Malaysia Intensif
• Separate classrooms were given to Music and Agama subjects, respectively
• Primary 3 students of SRSM sat for PTS Exam for the first time, with 52 candidates

• Extension of the new block for Primary School
• UPSR result (1998) was announced with 80.9% passes
• New classroom for Computer Studies with all the latest technological facilities
• New conference room for meetings
• Special rooms for Art & Craft and Dance Room respectively

• Installation of 18 new computer units with the latest IT facilities (Pentium III – W.98)
• Some major renovation of the primary school building
• Recreation Room was created to enable the students play some educational indoor games
• For the second time, SRSM organized the MSSR Hockey Tournament Bakong division
• English Room was created for the English department programmes
• The administration and account office of MEC were transferred to the primary school
• A separate room in the secondary block was given to the Nature Club
• UPSR result (1999) was announced with 88% passes

• Repainting of the primary school blocks
• Installing of multimedia system for Computer Studies
• IT Courses for Tadika & SRSM teachers
• Achieved the best ever UPSR results – 50% straight A’s and 100% passes
• School library was expanded and renovated. Fully air-conditioned
• 2 Assistant Teachers for Primary 1
• Class competition for Open Night

• Competition for Concert & Prize Giving Night
• UPSR result (2000) was announced with 100% passes

• Three classes of Year 1 move to the old kindergarten classes
• New parking area for staff to tackle parking space problems
• 20 new computers were added into the computer room
• Computer Room was extended
• New computer programmes / syllabus introduced called Cambridge Starter Awards in ICT (CSA). An internationally recognised certification in ICT skills
• One new computer placed at the library for students to do research
• UPSR result (2001) was announced with 93.3% passes

• Change of School Head effective 01.04.2002
• Recycling project revived this year
• Cambridge Starter Awards in ICT starts at all levels
• New audio visual equipment added to library
• UPSR result (2002) was announced with 97.8% passes

• Renovate and built new classroom for 2 Bijak
• Built mini net ball field
• Install electric bell in staffroom
• Mr Tan Kok Peng’s contract has ended. He has been replaced by Mr. Chuo Sing Huong since 01 June 2003
• The meeting room’s for old computers has been replaced with new computers for the use of teachers staff
• UPSR result (2003) was announced with 94% passes

• School gates were built
• School buildings and roof is painted
• School canteen is renovated
• New wiring system is installed
• Admin office is extended
• 20 old computers are replaced. 15 radios & VCD players were bought
• UPSR result (2004) was announced with 100% passes

• The floor of the staff office and two classes were tiled
• All staff tables were replaced with new ones
• The computerize system is linked among the offices
• The library is computerized
• A security guard shade was built
• UPSR result (2005) was announced with 98.5% passes

• The number of classes for this year is 17. Year one was reduced to only 2 classes
• The number of teachers is 37 inclusive of the Headmistress and Senior Assisstant
• New Chairman for the Parent-Teachers Association – En. Micheal Wong
• New challenge trophies for the School Annual Sport Day:
  1. Mawar Education Centre Challenge Trophy – donated by the MEC for overall winner in the Inter House Athletic Meet
  2. Parent-Teachers Challenge Trophy – donated by the PTA for the champion house in the March Past
• School developments:
  1. Taring of the road from car porch to caretaker’s area and refilling of pot holes in the car park area
  2. Installation of air turbine on the roof of Block 2 classes consisting of 11 units
  3. Change of all classroom doors and locks and replacing of locks in store rooms
  4. Resurfacing of Basket Ball Court
  5. Change spendex roof at the outer shade
  6. Repainting of roof at the Staff Room Block and car porch
  7. All classrooms and other rooms were set up with new curtains
  8. Computer Room was set up with 14 new computers to replace the old ones
  9. Painting of school gate wall with the name of school, school logo and the vision of the school
  10. Setting up of a resource room equipped with lap top, TV and video player, cupboard, 25 units lecture chairs and LCD projector
  11. UPSR result (2006) was announced with 94.9% passes

• The number of classes this year is 16
• The number of teachers is 34 including the Headmaster and Senior Assistant
• Pn. Janet Tho, the Headmistress, finished her contract with the school at the end of February 2007
• The new Headmaster, En. Abdul Ghani Hj. Sulaiman, reported for duty on the 5th June 2007
• The Annual General Meeting of the Teachers-Parent Association was held at Eastwood Valley Golf Club, but did not come to a resolution of forming a new PTA committee for 2007 due to lack of attendance from parents. Thus no candidates to be elected to form the committee
• School developments:
  1. Repainting of the inside wall for all the class rooms
  2. Repainting of the outside wall of the staff room and the past
  3. Painting of the floor of the music room and the library
  4. Beautifying the school compound with more flowers
  5. The installation of two water tanks, one for the girls’ toilet and another for the boys
  6. New display notice boards were put up in some of the classes
  7. Lining up of the playing area into a badminton court and a netball court for co-curricular activity
• A security guard was employed
• UPSR result (2007) was announced with 98.5 % passes

ABD Ghani Hj Sulaiman was appointed wef June 2007

• The school has 16 classes with 31 teachers, 1 Headmaster and a Senior Assistant
• The School Parent – Teachers Association (PTA) was again formed during a simple election of committee members held in July
• The school Annual Sport was successfully organized
• The school KAFA Committee was formed to look into matters, related with the muslim students and kelas Fardhu ‘Ain
• First time this year the school did not organize school annual concert. School’s annual concert is organised bi-annually
• The headmaster, En. Abdul Ghani Hj. Sulaiman left the school at the end of September
• No major development has been carried out this year
• UPSR result (2008) was announced with 98.1% passes

• The school has 14 classes with 30 teachers, 1 Headmaster and a Senior Assistant 3
• The school’s Acting Headmaster is Enc Abdul Razak Bin Hj Suhaili (SA 1)
• School developments are as follows:
  1. Painting of interior and exterior of the classrooms
  2. Replacement of new roofing for school canteen
  3. Additional staff toilet for ladies teacher (former storeroom) is constructed
  4. PJ equipment store is being moved to the new storeroom
• The school’s held its Bi-annual concert on 13th Nov 2009
• UPSR result (2009) was announced with 96.6% passes

• The school has 13 classes with 27 teachers, including an Acting Headmaster cum Senior Assistant
• Pn Christabel Chai was appointed the Headmistress of SRSM with effect from 22 Nov 2010
• School development & facilities:
  1. Treatment room was established
  2. Resurface the covered shades
  3. Put on ceiling at the Main drop zone in front of the staffroom
  4. Bought a new PA system
  5. Computer system has been upgraded with internet facilities
  6. Silver Jubliee celebration of MEC S/B on 9 July at Eastwood Valley
  7. ‘Lockers’ at the kitchen for staffs have been repainted and put on new lock
  8. School’s roofing was repainted
  9. Parents-Teacher Association held its General Meeting and elected its committee members for 2010/2011 term of office
• UPSR result (2010) was announced with 97.7% passes

• The school has 14 classes with 29 teachers, 1 Headmistress and 1 Senior Assistant
• SA, Abdul Razak Hj Suhaili resigned on 31st May 2011
• New KSSR Curriculum by MOE. SRSM continue teaching Maths & Science in BM & BI
• The school celebrated its Silver Jubilee cum concert night on 11th Nov
• UPSR result (2011) was announced with 87.8% passes

• The school has 15 classes with 29 teachers including 1 Headmistress
• The Headmistress, Pn Christabel Chai’s terms of office ends on 8th June 2012
• UPSR result (2012) was announced with 95 % passes, GPS 1.5
• The 15th Annual Sports meet was successfully carried out

• The school has 14 classes with 27 teachers including 1 Headmistress and SA (KK)
• The Headmistress, Cik Selina Kong was appointed on 1st March and left on the 31st Dec 2013
• Pn Lu Swee Ching, SA Pupil Affairs & Pn Lesley Linggod, HOD BI retired on 31st Dec
• School developments:
  1. Renovation of Block C to cater for 2 tutorial rooms air conditioned and storerooms costing RM110K in Dec 2013
  2. 16 nos CCTV cameras were installed along corridors, staffroom, admin office and library in Oct 2013 costing RM10.9K
  3. IT lab was upgraded with 16 sets of HP Pro 2200 PC, Pentium G640 computers
  4. School EDMS server (DELL Poweredge T420) replaced costing RM10.5K
• Champion in interschool Archery
• The 16th Annual Sports meet was successfully carried out
• The school held its musical concert on 8th Nov
• UPSR result (2013) was announced with 68% passes, GPS 1.81

• The school has 14 classes with 30 teachers including SA 1, Cik Roslawati Binti Ahmad & SA (KK) Enc Tajudin Ramli
• The Headmaster position is vacant. Cik Ngui is the Head of Administration, SRSM
• School developments include:
  1. New facilities includes – 2 tutorial rooms and 1 computer room with LED projector for learning costing RM11.9K
  2. 9 more CCTV cameras were installed at the drop zones, main gate, canteen and staffroom in January 2014 costing RM8.1K
• SR Sri Mawar chipped in RM3,320.00 “Go Bald campaign” to raise funds for the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society
• 17th Annual Sports was successfully carried out
• UPSR result (2014) was announced with 95.7% passes, GPS 1.54

• The school has 14 classes with 29 teachers including SA 1, Cik Roslawati Binti Ahmad, SA (KK) Enc Tajudin Ramli
• The Headmaster position is vacant. Cik Ngui is the Head of Administration, SRSM
• The library was extended to include the former resource room.
• Remedial class for Year 5 and 6 (UPSR Subjects) was introduced to assist weak students in preparation for UPSR
• 30th Anniversary celebration of MEC at Eastwood Valley Golf club in Aug
• 18th Annual Sports meet was successfully carried out in Nov
• UPSR result (2015) was announced with 94.2 % passes, GPS 1.59, 11 pupils with 5As

• The school has 15 classes with 31 teachers including SA 1 Cik Roslawati Binti Ahmad, SA (KK) Enc Tajudin Ramli
• The Headmaster position is vacant. Cik Ngui Hui Lin is the Head of Administration, SRSM
• The music room and Bahasa Arab’s room have been re-located to Block C
• The new canteen operator commences business – Pn Norain
• Long jump track was constructed
• 50 new desk for Year 2 were bought to replace the old ones
• DLP Programme approved by MOE
• Remedial class for Year 4 (UPSR subjects) was introduced to prepare students for UPSR
• 19th Annual Sports was successfully carried out on 26th Sept
• The school celebrated its 30th Anniversary cum school concert themed “Rise Up” on the 18th Nov at Meritz Hotel, Miri
• UPSR result (2016) was announced with 84.2% passes, GPS 2.4 (3 pupils scored 6As)

• The school has 15 classes with 31 teachers including a Headmistress, SA (KK) Enc Wong Kheng Loong, SA (PA) Ms Yee Ming Yuan
• Maths & Science were taught in two languages (BM & ENG) from Year 1 to 6
• Mr Bean visited the school on 4th July
• 20th Annual Sports (Carnival day) was successfully carried out in 29th July 2017
• Junior Boys & Girls toilet at Block A were renovated for RM 40K
• UPSR result (2017) was announced with 95.3% passes, GPS 2.04, (2 pupils scored 6As)

• The school has 12 classes with 28 teachers, including a Headmistress, SA (KK) Enc Wong Kheng Loong, SA (PA) Ms Yee Ming Yuan
• DLP programme from Year 1 to 6, Maths & Science were taught in English ONLY
• Kids Save life Program – 11th April by Miri Hospital
• Senior Boys & Girls Toilet were renovated for RM69K
• Hip Hop Dance club was introduced in Jan 2018
• New caretaker (Mr Sunie) & new cleaner (Mdm Mary Jack) commence 1st Nov
• 21st Annual Sports (Carnival day) on the 28th May 2018 at Pusat Belia Miri
• 15th Concert “BURST OF COLOURS” on the 12th October 2018 at Dewan Suarah Miri
• Excellent Student Award & Year Six graduation on the 21st November 2018 at Dewan Suarah Miri
